1. How do I register for mdBriefCase?
To register for mdBriefCase please click on the 'Register' button at the top of the homepage. Simply fill in the form and hit submit! You can also click here to register.

No, mdBriefCase is free! You will never incur any cost for participating on mdBriefCase.

4. How do I participate in an mdBriefCase program?
To participate in a program on mdBriefCase simply click on the title under the 'Featured Program' tab on the homepage. The programs have sequential tabs, click on the 'proceed to' buttons at the bottom of each page to continue on in the program. The “Accreditation Requirements” section lists all the mandatory components in the program. As you complete the items in this list they will automatically disappear; when all the items are done and gone a link will appear here to request your points. If you do not click this link your points will not be updated.

5. Are mdBriefCase programs accredited? Who accredits mdBriefCase programs?
All of the programs on mdBriefCase are accredited by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). Our programs are either Category 1, worth 40 QA&CPD points or category 2, worth 4 QA&CPD points. Majority of our programs are also accredited by the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM). The Optometrist Association of Australia also accredits some of our specialist programs, targeted toward Optometrists. These programs are also accredited by the New Zealand Association of Optometrists. mdBriefCase also offers programs for Pharmacists; these programs are all accredited by the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia.

6. How do I know when I have successfully completed a program?
You can be sure that you have successfully completed a program if you have requested credits in the Accreditation Requirements section. You can also tell if you have successfully completed a program by going to your 'myBriefCase' section. This section is accessible from the tab on the homepage (next to “Pharmacist Programs”) and also from the briefcase icon on the top right hand side of the site. Here you can see all of the programs you have begun to participate in as well as all of the programs you have successfully completed. Also, after you have successfully completed a program you will receive a congratulatory email with all of the details. If you have not received this email it is likely there are additional accreditation requirements to complete.

7. How will the RACGP (or other accrediting body) know when I have completed a program?
You do not need to notify the RACGP or any other accrediting body about your participation on mdBriefCase. Every month we notify the RACGP and other accreditors of all the successful completions from that month. After you request credits there is a note stating that your points will be automatically updated for you within 3-5 weeks.

No, you do not need to notify the RACGP or other accrediting body with information on the programs you have completed on mdBriefCase. We take care of this for you! Your points will be automatically updated.

9. What do I do if I've forgotten my username and password?
If you have forgotten your username and password please click on the “forgot my username/password” link on the homepage. Here you can insert your username or the email address that is associated with your account. Once you hit submit you will receive an email with your login details. To access the 'forgot password' page, please click here.

10. Can I leave a program half way through and return to complete it?
Yes, mdBriefCase keeps track of where you left off in a program. You can easily tell where you left off by the colour of the tabs within the program. If you have not yet visited the section, the tab will be navy blue; if you have already visited the section, the tab will be silver. We are working on a new and improved way to help you determine where you left off in our programs.

11. What is 'myBriefCase'?
myBriefCase is where you can go to see what programs you have successfully completed and what programs you have begun to participate in. As soon as you complete a program it immediately moves from 'programs in progress' to 'completed programs'; there is no delay. To see your 'myBriefCase' please click here.

12. I completed a program but it is still listed as a 'program in progress' in myBriefCase- why isn't it under 'completed programs'?
If you think you have completed a program but it is still listed under 'programs in progress' click on the hyperlinked title of the program. You will be taken directly to the Accreditation Requirements section within that program to see what you have left to complete before requesting credits. Don't forget that the requirements for the program will disappear as they're completed; once all the requirements are gone you must click on the link that appears here in order to successfully complete the program.

13. How do I access my profile with all the information associated to my account?
To access your profile click on the blue briefcase icon on the top right hand side of any page on the site. Select the 'my profile' option. If you would like to update the information here don't forget to hit the 'update' button when you're done. Your profile is where you can control what email communications you receive.

14. The program I am looking for is no longer listed- where did it go?
The programs on mdBriefCase are on the site for approximately 12 months, the same amount of time they are accredited by the RACGP or other accrediting bodies. mdBriefCase will send out an 'Expiration Notice' via email about one month before we plan on removing a program from the site.

15. What is the 'Pharmacist Programs' tab on the homepage?
mdBriefCase is expanding on the types of programs we offer to our valuable members. As such we have recently opened up our free online CPD service to pharmacists. These programs are applicable to pharmacists only and are only PSA accredited.

The Specialist programs tab on the homepage is where specialists can go to easily access the programs most relevant to them. We currently have programs specifically for Optometrists and Psychiatrists.

mdBriefCase recently teamed up with Reuters Health News to provide our members with access to the latest in Health news from around the world. To access our Reuters news feeds click on the links provided on the homepage or select 'more' underneath the links to search news stories you are interested in.

A needs assessment is a survey that mdBriefCase posts on the website to help us determine what your educational needs are. By completing a needs assessment you are helping us determine the learning objectives and shape the content provided to you within the programs on mdBriefCase.
