To participate in a program on mdBriefCase simply click on the title under one of the tabs (GP, Pharmacist or Specialist) on the homepage. You can also view a complete listing of programs for each section by clicking on the “View Full Program Listing” button. The programs have sequential tabs, click on the 'proceed to' buttons at the bottom of each page to continue on in the program. The “Accreditation Requirements” section lists all the mandatory components in the program. As you complete the items in this list the tick boxes will be “checked”; when all the items are checked you will be able to request your certificate of completion.

5. Are mdBriefCase programs accredited? Who accredits mdBriefCase programs?

All of the GP programs on mdBriefCase are accredited by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). Our GP programs are either Category 1 or category 2. Our GP programs are also accredited by the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM). The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) also accredits some of our specialist programs. mdBriefCase also offers programs for Pharmacists; these programs are all accredited by the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC). Our programs for Nurses are accredited by the Australian Practice Nurse Association (APNA) and also the Royal College of Nursing Australia (RCNA).

6. How do I know when I have successfully completed a program?

Go to the Accreditation Requirements page of the program and if there is a tick on the box next to where it reads “You have completed all of the requirements for Certificate of Completion.” – you have finished all the required sections of the program.

You can also tell if you have successfully completed a program by going to your 'myBriefCase' section. This section is accessible from the tab on the homepage that sits in the top right corner. Here you can see all of the programs that are currently in progress as well as all of the programs you have successfully completed. Also, after you have successfully completed a program you will receive a congratulatory email with all of the details. If you have not received this email it is likely there are additional accreditation requirements to complete.

7. How will the RACGP (or other accrediting body) know when I have completed a program?

You do not need to notify the RACGP or ACRRM about your participation on mdBriefCase. Every month we notify the RACGP and ACRRM of all the successful completions from that month for their respective members. After you request your CPD there is a note stating that your points will be automatically updated for you within 3-5 weeks. Pharmacists who are members of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia need to record their own CPD which they can do by printing off a certificate of completion which will show all the required information to present to the PSA to claim their CPD credits. RACS members must print off their certificate of completion in order to claim their CPD.

8. Do I have to provide the RACGP (or other accrediting body) with information on the programs I have completed on mdbriefcase?

It depends on which accrediting body you are a member with. The answers are as follows:

RACGP No
ACRRM No
PSA Yes
RACS Yes
APNA Yes
RCNA Yes

9. What do I do if I've forgotten my username and password?

myBriefCase is where you can go to see what programs you have successfully completed and what programs you have begun to participate in (in progress).
